Pajama Dress(ing)

What's hot right now? Well, besides the weather, this idea of "pajama dressing" which a lot of designers are featuring in their ready to wear collections. We are all about this trend but figure we might as well actually where pajamas rather than buy pieces that look like pajamas since you're going to buy pajamas anyway. How many times can we use the word pajamas in this post? We couldn't resist these pieces from Frou Frou and they will definitely be doubling as maxi dresses this summer; probably the simplest way to pull of the pajama trend if you aren't sure how you feel about it. Other suggestions for those that are a little more daring: wear that silk slip as a skirt, lace tap pants as shorts or pair a menswear inspired pajama top with denim cutoffs and heels.

Here, the sweet details and easy fabrics ensure you will be pj chic on the street. Picture that last one with a little jean jacket or a little more dressed up with an ivory blazer. Lucky we happen to have those hanging in our closet. It's so much fun getting all dressed up. Especially when you're in your pajamas and you don't even want to think about getting ready to go out. Wait...see what I did there? 

Just add wedges. (And a little arm candy wouldn't hurt!)

Time to take a (MAX) Holliday...

So it's March 22nd and COLD! This means we're dreaming of warm weather and figured it was time to take a holliday. PERT's version: a MAX Holliday. That's right. Don't think we've forgotten about the boys. The MAX Holliday boxer is designed "for the most dapper of gentlemen." British style to the T we're talking pinstripes, polkadots, liberty prints plus their signature silk satin waistbands and an embroidered heart on the button fly. Read: Boxer shorts you will actually want to steal from your man or buy for yourself. (The REAL reason we have them in the store!) IT DOESN'T GET PERTer THAN THIS! How excited are we?!!

Which is why their pieces will always be the food equivalent to my Nonno's lasagna, droolworthy and satisfying. What you get with Fortnight not only looks delicious but comes from a place of expert craftsmanship and attention to detail. Did we mention this brand is from Toronto and made in Toronto too? Probably, since it seems we just can't stop telling you about them, but since Canada isn't exactly the lingerie capitol of the world (yet!) we reserve the right to brag.

Valentine's Day is only a week away! Valentine's Day is one of my favourite holidays (next to Thanksgiving). I know many single people dislike it because well, they are single. And those that are attached dislike it since it has become so commercial. I think it's such a wonderful holiday. A day to celebrate love that's full of hearts, sparkles and flowers and devoted to the colours pink, red and white. I think the world needs more days like this. There really isn't a more perfect Trepany holiday. Not to mention, it is one of the most well known lingerie holidays. The perfect excuse to wear some fabulous underwear, especially if you are always wearing your basic bra and panty set. Even if you aren't celebrating the day with another love bird, why not get all dolled up? Today the snow just makes us want to stay inside and snuggle up with a latte and our magazines! So our lounge wear item of choice, and our favourite thing this week, is this cowl neck sweater from our Heather collection. The perfect cozy sweater for a day like today where we discover that winter is finally here this year! Love the side zipper and cowl neckline. And it's longer in the back, perfect to wear with tights! Enjoy the snow this weekend everyone!

Holiday parties and New Year's Eve plans have us gals out on the hunt for that perfect dress this time of year. We thought it was time to take our halter dress out of the wardrobe! Such a fabulous dress! We love Heather's everyday pieces, but this dress immediately caught our eye when we saw the holiday collection.

The leather on the front and around the waist gives the dress an edgy detail. Of course we adore the glamorous long sheer skirt, very lingerie inspired. A perfect mixture of styles to make a statement this season! How could we resist this one? It's so pert!

Favourite Thing: Philippe Matignon Lace Tights

Our new favourite thing at the love shack this week are these Philippe Matignon lace tights. 

Philippe Matignon is a luxury hosiery brand from Italy providing a variety of tights, stockings and socks. They have an extensive collection featuring many different styles, colours and prints, all of which are of the highest quality fabric and most importantly, very comfortable! Philippe Matignon is known for using at least two times the lycra fibres over each hosiery fibre on their stockings. This adds to the durability and detail in their pieces. Since tights have become an accessory, a way to jazz up any outfit,we couldn't wait for these ones to arrive at PERT. Their holiday collection, which we are unpacking this afternoon, is super snazzy! We are certainly going to be taking home a few new pairs!

This lace effect print is versatile, it can be dressed up like we are wearing it, or easily worn with denim shorts, a chunky sweater and boots, for a more casual look.
