Favourite Thing: Simone Perele's Caressence Bra

This my friends, is our favourite thing this week. WE LOVE THIS BRA! Since Valentine's Day is tomorrow and all, we wanted to spread the love and share the deets on this AMAZING bra with you!

This is the Caressence Bra by Simone Perele, one of the French lingerie collections we carry. Simone Perele was founded in 1948 by Simone herself who was a corset maker. Still going strong, the brand continues to capture the beauty and allure of the "so french woman" who's "personality makes the difference; sparkling, dainty, elegant and lively...a woman of natural distinction." How PERT-fect!

The Caressence Collection combines aloe vera infused threads, to create everlastingly soft lace, and the 3D spacer technology, which is a 3 dimensional knit fabric that lifts and shapes the bust without actually adding any volume. This 3D phenomenon is best discovered by touching the bra! We're talking bubble wrap type fascination here. And yes, it's worth making the trip to find out what we mean! These two components basically create a miracle product. This bra fits virtually anyone. We have had women tell us that it has changed their lives and husbands stop us in the streets to tell us their wives are raving about it! The lace band and detail on the straps add a bit of sex appeal yet the smooth finish of the cup allows you to wear it with virtually all clothing! Why not even show it off under your sheer tops? It comes in a range of sizes including 30 back bands and we usually carry up to an F cup here in the shop. Finally, it really is the most comfortable bra EVER. It is so light and molds to your body shape effortlessly. Talk about hugging your curves!

Valentine's Day is only a week away! Valentine's Day is one of my favourite holidays (next to Thanksgiving). I know many single people dislike it because well, they are single. And those that are attached dislike it since it has become so commercial. I think it's such a wonderful holiday. A day to celebrate love that's full of hearts, sparkles and flowers and devoted to the colours pink, red and white. I think the world needs more days like this. There really isn't a more perfect Trepany holiday. Not to mention, it is one of the most well known lingerie holidays. The perfect excuse to wear some fabulous underwear, especially if you are always wearing your basic bra and panty set. Even if you aren't celebrating the day with another love bird, why not get all dolled up? Here, I've picked out three of my favourite sets, perfect for February 14th. Hopefully they help inspire you to get Valentine Ready! I'm going to have a difficult time deciding what to wear...my underwear collection has turned into an entire year full of Valentine's Days and I am completely in love with it!

Getting Fit!

Although we don't market ourselves as a fit boutique, we gladly offer this service to our customers and we were prompted to write a brief post encouraging bra fitting after being sent an article this morning about The Boobie Trap's campaign regarding the horrors women face when wearing ill-fitting bras.

The Boobie Trap is a lingerie shop in Newfoundland and they have come up with and launched a campaign with the initiative to highlight the problems women face when wearing the wrong sized bra. The campaign was styled with the horror movie in mind, and even though Halloween may be over, wearing the wrong bra size lasts forever if you don't get out there for a bra fitting! Scary! We think their idea was quite clever, a lighthearted approach to the common problems of wearing the wrong bra size such as "quadraboob" and "the shelf." Both are indeed horrible if you ask us here at Pert.
With all my underwear experience I can say that it is true, most women are wearing the wrong bra size. It is important to get fitted for the correct size because in the right bra your breasts will appear smaller, perkier, your clothes will fit better, and it can help to relieve back and shoulder discomfort therefore improving your posture.
Overall a bra fitting is truly a very uplifting experience, a breast of fresh air if you will! If you aren't sure what to do this weekend and have never been fitted, we suggest gathering a few girlfriends and heading over to your local lingerie boutique for a bra fitting. I have no doubt the staff will be happy to help you find your correct size, and just as a side note I won't be held responsible for the damage done to your credit card. We little lingerie shops are always full of a few too many delicious treats.
